you purchase them from [skill trainer] npcs
elite skills, you need to purchase a [signet of capture] from same said [skill trainer], and use it on the corpse of a dead boss who has the elite skill you want. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Skill_trainer http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Signet_of_capture http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/List_...ure_locatio n |

a great program i like to use is mappingout... it is basicly a better version of wiki that is stored on your pc. and you can find the link to it from the "download" tab from guildwars guru. but try it out it tells you where each elite skill can be capped from bosses, and also gives a in depth description of the skill so you know what your going after gl and have fun.

once you get to ember light camp, the skill trainer sells all skills from core and prophecies.

1. Buying them at a skill trader. Easiest, but can be costly in the long run. 2. Signet of Capture. But why waste a signet on a normal skill? Those are really your only options for some skills. True, there is quests that give you skills in Prophecies and in EotN (PvE only skills), but most of the other skills you will have to buy yourself or get off a boss with a signet of capture. |

The other way you can get skills (no elite skills, and only a small selection of class skills..) is via Hero Skill Points - you can use them to unlock skills for your use as well as your Hero's (if you have them). However, you do need either/both Nightfall & Eye of the North.

Another less costly but complex way is to Unlock skills by spending faction gained through the pvp Zquests, then buy tomes to get the skills you unlocked.
Skills will cost you skill points and will eventually cost 1k a pop from the skill trainers. Tomes cost 500g at most ( Usually 300g ) and do not cost you a skill point. |
